Our first midweek Bible study this fall is on one of the most interesting books of Scripture: Revelation. So we’d love to see you there when Sunday School and Bible study start back up on September 10. The Lord blessed us with an increase in Sunday School attendance last year, but we’re looking to continue to build off of last year and build up our numbers so more families are in God’s Word together on Sundays. Parents can grow, too, as adult Bible study takes place at the same time. It also helps develop the godly habit of attending Bible study on Sunday mornings beyond 8th grade. Sunday School lessons allow children to become familiar with Bible stories and create a deeper understanding of Scripture and of God’s plan of salvation. Sunday School is one of the main ministries our church offers to Christian families for the biblical instruction of their children. Sunday School for the older students is upstairs in the balcony. Sunday School for the younger children is downstairs in the basement. Our Sunday morning Bible study and Sunday School continue today. Heavenly Father, you have forgiven my many sins, even sending your Son to pay in full the debt I owed. PRAYER IN PREPARATION FOR TODAY’S WORSHIP We pray that your soul will be strengthened by the good news of God’s forgiveness through Jesus.

We especially welcome our guests who have joined us today.

And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.ġ Cor 11:23-27 (NIV) The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper, he took the cup saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. In the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we welcome you to St. Mat 28:19 (NIV) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.Īcts 2:38 (NIV) Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.

Even little children and infants can receive the benefits God has placed into baptism. Lutherans accept all modes of baptism as correct when water is applied in the name of the Triune God. We believe that the sacraments are more than symbols and reminders of God’s love, but that they offer and deliver spiritual blessings to those who partake of them in faith. The church has also been given the means of grace, the Word, and the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.
